PROBLEM
Client owned a large country property in a cobbled together house over generations. The house was leaky and costing a fortune in heating bills, $500 per month just for propane! Sell the large country house. Find an in town house with enough land to build a whole separate house in the backyard. They can rent the ‘front’ house to bring in revenue, and live in the new build
SOLUTION
I sold their country property for close to $850k, and found an in town property with a decent sized bungalow, and huge back yard. The in town property was less than $500k so they can use the equity to build a virtual dream home in the backyard. And their expenses will drop immensely as a new build home or addition is super insulated and takes a fraction of the energy to heat it. The new build will also have an airbnb suite so they will now live in a dream home and pay nearly zero of their own money!
